Any artist proposals, ideas, questions and requests are always welcome.
Don't hesitate to contact us. «MuzEnergo» is not a typical case and it never feels «incorrectly addressed» or offended, or bothered, or spammed. Each letter that needs an answer will be answered; each artist proposal will get at least clear «no, thanks»; each journalist or listener will get his reward. We just need some time to think over your letter, that's all.
Important notes for booking proposals:
#1. We try to bring really fresh contemporary music to Russia to let local musicians and listeners discover something really new. But «good» and «new» are not the same, so we are usually not inviting evergreen music that needs no introduction to the listener. In case when we need some mainstream (of any form, from jazz to electric blues, from bossa nova to big bands) we always prefer local Russian musicians - it's easier, cheaper and more honest to them. Thus, when speaking with foreign musicians, we're really interested in any new and original music, but always decline any mainstream proposals - for the technical reasons only, not due to names/fee/whatever.
#2. We respect our partners and expect the same respect from them. We will not read and answer the letters started from «Dear Sir/Madam» or «Dear promoter» or «Hello, my name is». If you write to Iouri Lnogradski, it's a good idea to call him «Iouri» and to understand that he's male, not «sir or madam»..
#3. Our practice proved that all bands which are highly interesting for us can be divided in two categories: bands with financial support and bands without financial support. Since we try to make as much music events as possible, and since we make a cheap tickets, our policy in these circumstances is to pick up the bands with financial support (difference for ~$4000 to bring a quartet from USA to Russia is really a reason to use this policy). Thus, please be prepared that it's not enough in our cruel world to just play a decent music. In case with «MuzEnergo», it requires also the financial support or really serious ability to decrease fees/conditions.
FOR ADEQUATE ARTIST PROPOSALS:
- booking for 9th festival (July 2010) is closed.
- booking for 10th festival (November 2010) is closed for city of Dubna, and there are at most 2 possibilities left for other cities
- booking for 11th and later festivals (2011) is on progress.
- getting proposals from foreign bands, we are trying to cover as much countries & nations as possible; thus, for 10th and later festivals we will prefer bands from countries which were not presented still. Best chances are for bands who not represent Azerbaijan, Belarus, Brazil, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Great Britain, Germany, France, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Kazakhstan, Lithuania, Poland, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey, Ukraine, and USA.
Thanks for your understanding!
